- Just a note to dispell the net.hysteria created by one user's malicious postings
- about the business practices of Better Concepts. (AKA BCI) I have personally
- dealt with BCI in the recent past, and have found them to be very quick and
- reliable, if a little pricey on some items. However, I would also like to say
- that both John and Shane are working their balls off to make BCI great, and by
- extension to make the Amiga great again. These guys are dedicated to the
- platform, and to the users. How do I know this? They used to live here in
- Charleston, SC, and were active members of the Charleston Area Amiga User's Group.
-
- These guys will bend over backwards to help users. Take the case where someone
- called to complain that the bag of "1084 monitor parts" didn't actually contain
- one-thousand eighty-four pieces!!! Give me a break - how big of a moron can one
- be? To John's credit, he tried to explain the situation to the irate caller *3*
- TIMES, (while the caller continued to threaten a truth-in-advertisement lawsuit)
- before finally giving up and offering to refund his $$$. Naturally that wasn't
- good enough for the cretin, who by this time had delusions of a federal trade
- commision lawyer comming to his side. Now come on - in the face of abusive,
- cheating consumers these guys have managed to stay professional. Granted, the
- user who didn't get his A1200 for 6 weeks, and then didn't get his 3.1 disks
- certianly deserved better customer service, but as Shane pointed out, every once
- in a while nightmares happen, and things slip through the cracks. It's happened
- to all of us. If you look at the TOTAL performance of BCI, and their satisfied
- (and loyal) customer base, you will see that the charges of them being unethical
- are completely unfounded. Compare that record with some of the other (now-defunt)
- Amiga stores...
